Mieczyslaw A. Klopotek, D.Eng.habil., received M.Sc.in 1983 and Ph.D. in computer science in 1984 from Dresden University of Technology, Germany. Dr.Eng.habil. from Institute of Computer Science, Polish Academy of Sciences in 1998. Currently Associate Professor at the Institute of Computer Science of Polish Academy of Sciences; also Extraordinary Professor at the Warsaw University of Technology, also Extraordinary Professor at the University of Podlasie. Member of the Editorial Board of the International Journal Machine Graphics and Vision. Member of the New York Academy of Sciences. Main research areas are: artificial intelligence, especially expert systems, management of uncertainty, machine learning, machine vision, intelligent information systems. More than 120 scientific publications in national and international journals and conference proceedings. Cooperates with industry and medical centers in the area of intelligent information systems and knowledge discovery in databases. Participated and participates in national (4 KBN grants) and international (2 grants of European Union CRIT-2, 1 grant of German-Polish Cooperation Foundation SfdpZ) research projects.
